Rolled Throughput YieldRTY

The probability a unit passes through every step of a process defect-free — the product of each step's first pass yield.

Rolled Throughput Yield (RTY) is the product of the first pass yields of every step in a process. It reveals the true end-to-end quality that single-step yields hide.

The math is sobering: ten steps at 95% FPY each give an RTY of only about 60%. RTY exposes the cumulative "hidden factory" of rework and is a key metric in Six Sigma.
