Floor Simulator 0.6.0
A line is built in four steps, each on its own page, with one answer line on every step. A station is timed by its longest chain of operations, and copies are sized to a busy limit.
What's New
- Four steps: Product and Rate, Stations and Operations, Size and Value Stream, and Ramp. Advanced lists the other seven tools, each with what it does.
- An answer line on every step: the rate, People, Machines, Max Output, Flow Time and the Bottleneck with its spare capacity.
- Busy limit: copies are sized so no station is planned past 85% busy, or the limit you set for an area.
- Depends On: operations can start side by side and join. A station takes as long as its longest chain.
- Line Settings: a new line asks nine yes or no questions once, then nothing asks.
- Cells: design a cell of builders, size its copies, lay it out as a U, an L or an I, and stamp the copies on the floor.
- One Page: the answer, a still value stream and the ramp on one sheet. Export One Page (PDF) prints it.
- Guide Me builds a new line one action at a time on the real steps.
What Changed
- Files save as format 5 when they hold a busy limit under 100%, a Depends On list or a station with its own people. Floor Simulator 0.5.x cannot open a format 5 file.
- A 0.5 file opens with nothing lost, at the 85% busy limit, and says once what moved.
- With Sub-Assemblies off, each sub-part joins the end item at the operation that uses it, so flow time can read differently from 0.5.
- The sidebar, the Overview page, the Plan sheet, the Switches sheet and the manager and expert levels are gone. Old links open the step that holds that page now.
- A By Month plan with dated changes reads the answer from the line as the plan has it that month, from one run.
What You Get
- Floor Simulator 0.6.0 as one HTML file that runs offline in Chrome or Edge and never touches the network.
- Floor Simulator Classic (0.5.x) free with it, as a separate download.
- A 2-day free trial from the store page.
- On the store page: $249 once, or in the Complete plan at $19 a month.
- Owners of Floor Simulator 0.5 or Classic download 0.6 from their account.
-
Website
The modelers lead the home page, a new /modelers page says which one to pick, and the Floor Simulator has a 2-day trial.

- A 2-day free trial of the Floor Simulator, emailed from its store page.
- This changelog: every release of every tool on one page, with a filter by tool.

- The Floor Simulator store page shows the one-time $249 buy beside the plan.
What You Get
- One page to pick a modeler from before you open a store page.
- A way to try the Floor Simulator before you buy it.
- What changed in each tool, and when, in one place.
-
VSM Pro 1.5.4
Two fixes to the numbers and marks on the map.
What's New
None in this release.
What Changed
- A WIP cap only lowers piles above the target. Piles already under it stay as they are.
- A step loaded past 100% that is not the drum is drawn in red on the map and the image.
What You Get
- Future state WIP and short steps that match what you typed.
-
Line Designer Pro 1.5.3
Fixes to capacity, pace and rebalancing so every tab gives the same answer.
What's New
- A wait on a station over the pace gets its own note: remove the wait, since moving it does not help.
What Changed
- Capacity rounds down, never up: 106.6 a day reads 106.
- Rebalancing never moves a waiting element. It stays at its station and takes its time out of that station.
- When Quick's totals come from the stations in Design, Quick judges the stations as built, as Design does.
- One pace on every tab, with downtime taken out.
What You Get
- The same verdict on Quick and Design for the same line.
-
Line Design Quick Checks 1.5.3
Capacity and pace read the same way on every check.
What's New
None in this release.
What Changed
- Capacity rounds down, never up: 106.6 a day reads 106.
- One pace on every check: the running hours with the stopped hours taken out, as Takt and Line does.
What You Get
- Checks that agree with each other on the same numbers.
-
Yamazumi Balancer 1.4.4
Changing the time unit converts the times already typed.
What's New
None in this release.
What Changed
- Switching between seconds, minutes and hours converts the times already typed, so 90 seconds becomes 1.5 minutes. Undo puts them back.
- Shop mode is hidden until it is finished. A file saved in shop mode opens as a line.
What You Get
- Element times that keep their meaning when you change the unit.
-
Flow Starter Kit 1.4.4
The stand-in model follows the week you type and comes out the same each time.
What's New
None in this release.
What Changed
- The same answers give the same stand-in model every time.
- The units and running hours you type for a week set the demand and the shift. With no hours typed, it uses an 8 hour shift with 45 minutes of breaks.
- Station times leave room for each station's changeover, so the slowest station still makes your rate.
What You Get
- A starting model you can reproduce and that fits your week.
-
IE Templates Pro 1.4.3
Charts draw in the tool's own colors.
What's New
None in this release.
What Changed
- Chart bars and lines draw in the primary color of the tool's look, with the labels on them readable.
What You Get
- Charts that match the rest of the tool on screen and in images.
-
IE Calculator Pro 1.4.3
Save File names the file after the workbook title.
What's New
None in this release.
What Changed
- Save File uses the current workbook title for the file name. Renaming the workbook renames the next save.
What You Get
- Saved workbooks you can tell apart by name.
-
Floor Simulator 0.5.2
Three input fixes from a usability audit of 0.5.1. No figure the engine computes moved.
What's New
None in this release.
What Changed
- A number box selects its whole value when it opens or gets focus, so a number typed replaces it.
- In a list, the arrow keys move through the options and pick nothing. Enter or a click picks, and Esc puts the value back.
- Rows pasted on the rate step go into The Work's table instead of the rate field.
- On the Ramp Plan, a flip's Try works out its questions again and reads Checking the questions until they are in.
What You Get
- The same figures as 0.5.1, with fewer ways to type a wrong value by accident.
-
Floor Simulator 0.5.1
24 fixes from the 0.5.0 final check. No figure the engine computes moved: what changed is how figures print, where links land, and keys and focus.
What's New
None in this release.
What Changed
- Takt prints the same on every page: 3.906 hrs on the simple sample at 40.
- Math lines print the digits they multiply at, so each line adds up as printed.
- Every term in a math line opens, edits or links to the place it is set.
- What Moved and the keys work the same on every two-column page.
- One question on a page, and a feature that is off is left out.
What You Get
- Figures you can check by hand from what is on the screen.
-
