An A3 is not a form β it's a thinking discipline. The single-page constraint forces you to distill the story down to what matters. If you can't fit it on one page, you don't understand it well enough yet. The left side tells the story (what's wrong and why), the right side tells the solution (what you'll do and how you'll know it worked). A mentor reviews the logic at each step β this is how Toyota develops problem-solvers, not just problem-reporters.
Don't try to complete an A3 in one sitting. Fill in Sections 1-4 (left side), then go to the floor and observe. Come back and refine. Show your mentor. Iterate. The A3 is a living document β not a one-shot report.
