MTTRMean Time To Repair

The average time to restore equipment to operation after a failure — lower is better.

Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) is the average time it takes to diagnose and fix a failure and return the asset to service. Lower MTTR means faster recovery and higher availability.

MTTR is reduced through spare-parts readiness, technician training, standardized repair procedures, and good machine design for serviceability. It is the natural partner of MTBF in reliability analysis.

Put MTTR into practice

SymplProcess turns these concepts into working models, calculators, and templates your whole team can use — no spreadsheets required.
