OEEOverall Equipment Effectiveness

The gold-standard equipment metric: Availability × Performance × Quality. World-class is 85%+.

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is the single most widely used measure of manufacturing productivity. It multiplies three loss-based factors: Availability (uptime), Performance (speed), and Quality (good parts). World-class OEE is around 85%.

Because it is a product, OEE punishes losses on any of the three dimensions and exposes the "six big losses." Decomposing OEE shows exactly where to focus — SMED for availability, TPM for breakdowns, quality tools for defects.

Put OEE into practice

SymplProcess turns these concepts into working models, calculators, and templates your whole team can use — no spreadsheets required.
